During the first period, Conroy opened the scoring for Gillette with a goal at 4:24 with helpers from his linemates, Conti and Varty. Miller answered for Bozeman with a goal at 15:14 with a helper from fellow Icedogs forward Charnholm. Eastep answered for the Wild with a goal at 18:30 with assists from his linemates, Stockert and Thompson. Franklin quickly followed with a goal at 18:36 with a helper from Liner.
During the second, Walters answered for Gillette with a goal at 0:07 with an assist from his teammate Conroy. Oberg put in a goal at 9:49 with helpers from his linemates, Mitzel and Peterson. Mitzel scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:23 with assists from his linemates, Oberg and Peterson. Thompson quickly followed with a goal at 15:44 with helpers from his linemates, Oberg and Stockert. Lopez quickly followed with a goal at 16:22 with assists from teammates Liner and Stucker. Charnholm deposited a goal at 19:36.
During the third period, Peterson answered for Gillette with a goal at 2:34 with helpers from Scoggins and Conti. Scoggins scored a goal at 10:52 with an assist from Mitzel. Walters netted a goal at 13:04 with a helper from Thompson.
The Wild’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Pilely as he stopped 22 of the 26 shots he faced. Pilely’s counterpart, Orchard, also had a big night, managing to stop 49 of 58, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Gillette Wild’s record to (3-9-1-0).
