Sean Kelley was superb between the pipes for the Gillette Wild, as he did not allow a goal in a 6-0 victory over the Billings Bulls.
Alex King had a great game for Gillette, netting two goals. King scored at 4:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gillette and again while 9:59 into the first to make the score 3-0 Gillette.
The Wild\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Billings power plays. Gillette\’s defense was surprisingly good. The Wild gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Gillette surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Wild average 3.0 goals per game.
Gillette also got points from Bryce Mitzal, who also had two goals and one assist and Moco Willis, who also registered one goal and three assists. Gillette also got a goal from Tj Mcminn as well. In addition, Gillette received assists from Brandon Miller, Nick Mead, Will Fobair, Andrii Istominov, and Darren Banks, who contributed one a piece.
Billings was held below its usual level of production. The Bulls put an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game. Billings forced Gillette goalie Kelley to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.
Sean Kelley made 41 saves for the Wild on 41 shots. Gillette incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Bulls took out Daniel Oordt after he had made 13 saves and installed isaac tjaden in goal, where he finished with nine saves and the loss. Billings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
