A couple of weeks ago (Dec. 15-17), the Wild took a road trip to Blaine, Minnesota for the annual NA3HL showcase. This was their final stretch of games in 2024. It went quite well for the Wild, going 2-1 in 3 games. Here is a rundown of those three games.
Game 1 was on Sunday, Dec. 15th vs the New Jersey Titans. The Wild started their tournament run on the right foot, ending the game with a W in the books. The final score was 9-1. Notable Wild players were Max Arlt and Dylan Peterson, both adding 2 goals to the 9 total.
Game 2 was on Monday the 16th and was against the Long Beach Sharks. Gillette continued their dominance, taking this one with a score of 5-2. This win was an elite team effort, with all five goals from the Wild being scored by different players. The five were Zach Lebens, Hudson Fisher, Max Arlt, Riley Schmidt, and Brady Johnson.
Game 3 was on Tuesday the 17th, this time against the Willmar Warhawks. The Wild couldn’t quite escape the Warhawks claws, narrowly losing with a score of 4-3. The Wild’s three goals came from Caden Graham, Max Arlt, and Zach Lebens.
Ending December with a successful showcase, the Wild now enter January with a record of 12-16-1-0. They will hope to get off to a hot start this weekend, facing the Bozeman Icedogs in a two game set. Bozeman currently sits at 5th in the Frontier Division with a record of 14-11-1-1.
