Mitchell McEwan racked up one point to lead the Gillette Wild to a 2-0 victory over the Bozeman Icedogs.
Gillette\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bozeman power plays. The Wild\’s defensive play was more effective than usual against Bozeman. Gillette gives up 2.2 goals on average per game. The Wild forced the Icedogs goalie Denijs Romanovskis to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.
Kyle Reilly also scored for Gillette. More assists for Gillette came via Austin Tennant, Alex King, and Brett Kramer, who each chipped in one.
Bozeman did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Icedogs average 2.3 goals per game.
Gillette\’s Alex Feese stopped 20 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Wild totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Romanovskis rejected 35 shots on goal for Bozeman. The Icedogs ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
