Gillette pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over Billings on a clutch goal by Brett Kramer.
Gillette came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Gillette trailed 2-0 after a goal by Billings\’ Chris Nicolai at 5:20 in the second period. Gillette knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Nicolai at 18:46 in the third period.
Riley Holwegner and Kramer provided the spark for Gillette, combining for three goals and one assist. Holwegner tallied two goals and Kramer also added one goal and one assist.
Gillette forced Billings goalie Gage Overby to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.
Gillette also got points from Kramer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Gillette also got a goal from Nick Stockert as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Gennadi Zabeline, who had two and Preston Fuller, Jack Oberg, and Alex King, who each chipped in one.
Roy Aharonovich also scored for Billings. In addition, Billings received assists from Mason Graves, who had two and Wolfgang Davis, Keith Gustin, Dillon Steh, and Jeremy Vandekerkhove, who contributed one each.
Alex Feese rejected 27 shots on goal for Gillette. Gillette incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Overby recorded 40 saves for Billings. Billings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
