Gillette Downs Billings 5-2

Ronnie Wilshusen finished with one point to lead the Gillette Wild to a 5-2 victory over the Billings Bulls.

 

Gillette's offense rang up 43 shots on Billings' net. The Wild had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances. Gillette got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Gillette also got points from Taylor Motsinger, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Gillette also had goals scored by Trent Dillinger, who had one and Moco Willis, who had two. In addition, Gillette received assists from Matt Rose and Sean Kelley, who each chipped in one and Tyler Cavan and Tyler Johnson, who contributed two a piece.

The Bulls kept the Wild's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kelley made 29 saves on 31 shots. Billings was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances.

The Bulls were led by Nik Nasby, who racked up one goal. Nasby scored on the power play 5:27 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Billings had taken the advantage when Gillette's Steve Patafio got sent off for interference. Colter Endy provided the assist. Christopher Timm also scored for Billings. Other players who recorded assists for Billings were John Vant and Jarrett Stark, who each chipped in one.

The Wild incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Nic Wackerly made 38 saves for the Bulls on 43 shots. Billings incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
