Brenden Kruckenberg (Rapid City, SD) has announced his intentions of playing ACHA Division 1 hockey for the Rochester College Warriors. Rochester College is located in Rochester Hills, MI. They are an Affiliate Member of the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL). This will be their first year fielding a team at this level. They are coached by Nick Tomczyk.
Kruckenberg started 22 games for the Wild, earning a 3.38 Goals Against Average (GAA) and .895 Save Percentage.
Brenden has said "I chose Rochester College because of the great coaching staff and the opportunity to be a part of a first year organization. I am very excited to start my college hockey career here.” Brenden will major in Biology at Rochester College.
Tomczyk has stated his excitement for garnereing the attention of a great goalie like Kruck. He commented “What impressed me most about him was his willingness and drive to compete and get better as a player….beginning a program, Brenden is the type of player we want on our team.”
Coach Winkler has stated "This is a great opportunity for Brenden to step right in and help establish tradition at Rochester College. He has worked extremely hard to earn his position there. We know he will be a great teammate."
The Wild now have 4 players from last years team commit to strong college hockey programs as well as one player drafted in the NAHL.
