Three members of the Gillette Wild have received NA3HL Frontier Division Stars of the Month honorable mention recognition for the month of September, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Goalie Jake Turek, from North Branch, MN, recorded a shut-out win in the season opener against Bozeman, stopping all 28-shots he faced. Turek also stopped 55-of-58 shots he faced taking a shootout lose against Granite City. On the season, Turek has saved 83-of-86 (96.5 SV%) shots he’s faced, and has a 1.44 goals-against-average.
Defensemen Todd Powassin, from Warroad, MN, chalked up at least one point in each of the three series the Wild played in the month of September. Powassin recored an assist in a 6-1 victory over Bozeman, scored a goal and assisted on two others in a win over Badlands, and scored a goal in a 4-3 shootout lose to Granite City.
Forward Isaac Young, from Fergus Falls, MN, was on the score sheet in all six Gillette games recording 13-points. Three different times Young recorded three points, scoring a goal and assisting on two others in a Wild 8-0 victory of Bozeman, as well as assisting on three goals on back-to-back nights as Gillette beat Badlands 6-1, and 9-2.
